Celebrating the latest accredited sport facilitators in Tasmania
Over the last few months, 16 dedicated sports representatives from across the state have participated in a facilitator course, specialising in coaching women and girls.
The program offered participants practical, hands-on experience across a range of sports to develop and refine facilitation skills, equipping them to support community coaches and officials in fostering positive and welcoming environments for women and girls in sport.
Following the two-day course in March, the newly trained facilitators travelled to various regions of Tasmania to deliver Community Coach and Officials Workshops. These workshops allowed our facilitators to showcase their newly acquired skills and pass on valuable knowledge and understanding of the needs of women and girls within community sport.
Community Coach and Officials Workshops were well attended, with 93 participants taking part across the state from June 20 to 22.
We look forward to seeing these facilitators continue to engage with their local sports community, raise awareness and enhance understanding to positively impact women and girls in Tasmania.
This exciting opportunity was funded and led by the Australian Sports Commission. Active Tasmania would like to congratulate and acknowledge all facilitators on attaining their accreditation.
