Volunteers play a vital role in the community and are essential to the sustainability of sport and active recreation clubs.

It is important to understand the needs and wants of individuals who volunteer in their community. With that knowledge, organisations can develop appropriate strategies and processes to attract, retain and support volunteers.

Sport Volunteer Resource Hub (Australian Sports Commission)

The Australian Sports Commission has designed the Sport Volunteer Resource Hub to bring together useful resources, to help attract, retain and acknowledge volunteers.

Sport Volunteer Coalition Action Plan

The Sport Volunteer Coalition has developed a four-year Action Plan, to enable more Australians to volunteer in sport and enhance the sport volunteering experience.

The Australian Sports Commission leads the implementation of the Action Plan, with the Sport Volunteer Coalition members supporting the delivery across four strategic themes – Celebrate, Empower, Reimagine and Innovate.

Volunteering Tasmania

Volunteering Tasmania can assist organisations with volunteer management. As Tasmania’s peak body on volunteering, they provide information and resources, offer workshops, and coordinate a volunteer database to assist organisations recruit volunteers.
